To preserve family legacy and create a place of knowledge, growth, and empowerment. Through education and connection, LLKFF equips families with the tools to become financially secure, spiritually grounded, and physically well — building sustainable legacies for generations to come.
Our Story
The foundation was born during a time of cultural awakening. After the release of the groundbreaking show Roots, families across America were inspired to reconnect. For the Lesesne kinfolk, that inspiration became a mission. Parents and elders began searching for lost and distant relatives, reconnecting branches of the family tree across the nation.
From those efforts grew LLKFF — a foundation rooted in the belief that family is the world. Over time, we’ve built not only bonds of kinship, but also a culture of support in finances, education, and health.

Organizing an event for the Lesane-Lesesne Family Conference 2024 in Carey, NC was no small task. From the check-in to the tour to the banquet, and finally the departure home, everything ran seamlessly without a hitch. Witnessing a family come together to celebrate and honor their heritage, while teaching others how to research their heritage, was an enjoyable experience.

How are funds utilized ?
We have minimal operating expenses, so our major emphasis is defraying the cost of the LLKFF Conference attendees. We are dependent on donations to fund our educational initiatives in our core service areas. Conference class access is made affordable because of the generosity of our donors. We plan to fund LLKFF educational scholarships which will solely be funded by charitable donations.

LLKFF stands for Lesane Lesesne Kinfolk Family Foundation. We are dedicated to preserving legacies, empowering communities, and building generational impact through education, service, and connection.
